The Morphometry of the Cervical Vertebral Column in the Sagittal Plane: Comparing Methods for Determining Cervical Lordosis Angle

Background: The aims of this study were to: (i) to analyze the morphometric characteristics cervical vertebral column in sagittal plane; and (ii) compare methods used for determinating lordosis angle. Materials Methods: Direct radiographs 175 adults analyzed angle was evaluated by Cobb (C2-C7), central angle, posterior tangent, Risser & Ferguson methods. In addition, occipitocervical (occiput-C2) vertical tranlation distance deter-mined assess upper forward head posture, respectively. Results: measured angles differed (p<0.05) depending on measurement met-hod. There a strong negative correlation between (r = -0.707), weak translation -0.253) moderate positive 0.552).
